This necklace is very special. It uses beautiful side drilled winter-white BIWA pearls, a few tiny pearl spacers and a couple of champagne coloured crystals. The main feature is the silver pendant that I have made using Art Clay silver. Once fired Art Clay silver becmes 99.7% pure silver i.e. more pure than sterling silver. This pendant is an image of Medusa at her most beautiful. I have treated the silver to give it a slightly antiqued effect - instead of shiny silver, it is now a champagne colour. The clasp is sterling silver.

This necklace is a one-off design that cannot be repeated. It is not for sale as it has been made as a birthday gift for a very special young lady (but not the same young lady for which the necklace shown below has been made). The young lady in this instance is allergic to normal metals so the chain and clasp on this necklace are sterling silver. The focal bead is an SRA lampwork freeform heart. In other words, it has been made by a self representing artist as a one-off. There are also four other beads appearing in this necklace that have been made by an SRA - two larger rondelles in dark red and two in sandy yellow colour. The rondelles reflect the dark red and sandy yellow within the focal bead. There are also several Fancy Jasper rondelles, chosen as they are very close in colour to the shades of green appearing in the focal bead. There are also two fancy, Bali style beads made from copper that has been plated with sterling silver and several smaller, Tibetan silver spacer beads.

This necklace is not for sale and cannot be repeated. It has been made as a birthday gift for a very special young lady. I have published it here to allow you to see some of the 'one-off' work I have created. The front of the necklace contains some beautiful satin-finished, silvery links in unusual shapes, including a butterfly and a flower. From these links hang tiny Fancy Jasper rondelles. The remainder of the necklace is made up of some very unusual opaque brown glass beads. Each bead is unique in that the veining in blues and greens is different on each bead, thus giving them the appearance of semi-precious stones. The beads are wired together with tarnish resistant, silver-plated copper wire and there are more of the Fancy Jasper rondelles set between the main beads. The necklace is finished off with a gorgeous mat-silver, fancy toggle clasp.

This bracelet looks chunky but is really very lightweight as the chain links are made from aluminium. Amongst the links are little seed beads, flowers, leaves and drops. All beads are made from quality Czech glass. The bracelet is finished with a lobster clasp.

These necklaces have some similarities so I have included them in the same blog.
The first contains spotty dichroic glass ovals in black with the spots having a blue and silver appearance. These beads are separated by peacock coloured freshwater pearls. There is a mat-silver metal leaf pendant at the front and a pretty Tibetan silver, leaf shaped toggle clasp fastener.
The second necklace contains the same glass ovals and freshwater pearls at the front, and the back half of the necklace is just pearls (with little silver plated spacer beads between each). A fancy, round Tibetan silver toggle clasp is used on this necklace.

This bracelet is so pretty and an ideal gift for a little girl. It is made from a substantial, silver plated chain with a lobster clasp. The pretty dangles and are a combination of leaves and flowers in shades of pink and lilac. The leaves and flowers are made from Lucite (a quality, lightweight plastic with a feel of frosted glass. Some of the flowers also have a sea glass bead in the centre and others have a faux pearl centre. The bracelet measures five and a half inches but it can be worn shorter by using one of the chain links to fasten the clasp. This necklace and bracelet set both contain hand-forged sections. The bracelet is made from hand-forged links and clasp and the necklace has a hand-forged pendant and clasp. Both necklace and bracelet contain fresh-water potatoe pearls in white and a lovely olive green colour - the green, white and silver forms a lovely combination that would go with many outfits. I have made this bracelet and several more, all very similar, as a means of fund raising for my Son-in-Law George and Daughter Joanne. My son-in-law was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and is currently undergoing the hell that is the only treatment for the illness. The treatment and recovery are very lengthy and funds will help them ad little daughter Gracie through this very difficult period.

The bracelets each have a hand-made bead at the centre, bearing the orange Leukemia ribbon symbol and a pewter and enamel Lekemia ribbon charm attached at the clasp. The other main beads are round foil lined beads - the colours I've chosen for these are gold, copper and bronze. Some bracelets have a mix of all colours and others have only one of the colours. Between these beads I have also varied each bracelet. So some have little orange beads, some have Czech fire polished beads in a bronze colour, some have little tiger eye (semi-precious) beads, some have orange crystals and others have little silver plated beads. The clasps are a fancy 's' shaped clasp in a Bali style. These are made from copper that has been heavily plated with sterling silver. If you are interested in buying one of these bracelets just e-mail in the first instance, with your wrist measurement. Whichever bracelet yuo receive, they are all very similar, but I have deliberately attempted to make some differences so that what you get will be more unique than mass produced items.

The semi precious stones on this necklace and bracelet are oblong (with rounded corners) of green Jasper. This stone has mottled shades of green and the overall effect is quite a dark green colour - nicely contrasting with the copper used throughout. This necklace and bracelet contain the unusual, yellow turquoise beads in two sizes. I describe them as unusual because they are neither yellow, nor turquoise, and no two are alike - some being almost black and others a almost completely lime coloured, while others have a mottled pattern in shades ranging from lime to black. The yellow turquoise beads are accompanied by little glass beads that are turquoise in colour, and each 'set' of beads is spaced by shiny siler plated tube beads. The clasps on both necklace and bracelet are shiny Tibetan silver - another jewellery set that is bright and beautiful - just like our summer I hope.

This necklace gives four choices to the wearer. The lovely oval-linked silvertone chain is 32 inches long and can be worn single or doubled. The pendant is enamelled with cream on one side and pink on the other - so a further two choices. The centre of the pendant contains a large Swarovski (clear AB) teardrop and further smaller dangles - Swarovski cream pearls and clear AB crystals. The first few links of the chain bear dangles made from Swarovski pearls and crystals and this pattern is repeated at the back of the chain so that, when worn with the chain doubled, the necklace remains symetrical. The pendant measures two and a quarter inches, and it hands from several wraps of fine sivertone chain, making it a total of two and a half inches from the chain. So when worn doubled, this necklace measures over 18 inches long.

This is what you call a string of pearls. The overall length is 78 inches which obviously means this necklace is not meant to be worn as a single strand, unless you tie a knot in it and wear it like a flapper necklace. The general choices are that you wear this a long, double strand, a triple strand or a 4-strand necklace. As a 4-strand it can be worn as straightforward strands, or twisted and clasped with the pearl shortener clasp provided. The pearls are a lovely quality glass in various shades of grey.

These are different. A necklace and bracelet using similar beads and therefore can be classed as a matching set. The 'Y' shaped necklace has some clear glass, disc beads which bear lovely patterns in shades of blue. Between the disc beads are tiny black fire polished beads and the design is hung on a fairly chunky, silver plated chain with a lobster clasp to finish it off. The bracelet is a 'half and half' style. One half has a row of the same tiny black fire polished beads and a finer silver plated chain, while the other half has little black oblong beads with blue spots on them, spaced by the black fire polished beads. This is a lovely chain mail bracelet made from hundreds of jumprings. The rings are 925 silver plated and the coloured ones (in this case purple) are then coated with enamel. In this example, the clasp is a silver plated copper toggle and there is a ladybird charm attached.

Chain mail is a time consuming jewellery making method so the cost of a piece like this is reflected in the price.

This is a crocheted bracelet using a different method to my other crocheted jewellery. The semi precious stones, including Garnet, Labradorite, Rock Crystal and freshwater pearls, are crocheted into a wire mesh band, then formed into a tube. The tube then has two lovely bead cones and a clsp attached to make the bracelet. The wire used is tarnish resistant, silver plated copper and the bead cones and clasp are all 925 silver plated copper. The overall effect is a lovely, dark red colour with some sparkle.

This absoultely devine jewellery has been made as a special commission for Amanda's wedding. The pieces are made from Swarovski pearls and crystals. The necklace and bracelets all have Bali silver clasps. The earrings have beautiful sterling silver and CZ hoops (not quite finished hence only one earring in the photo). The beading wire is silver plated copper that is tarnish resistant. The necklace is not intended to be completely symetrical, but rather to give the effect that pearls and crystals of various sizes have been 'scattered' across the piece. The effect is stunning and once again, the photographs does not do total justice. The single strand bracelet of all Swarovski crystals is intended for use on the left hand, so as not to detract too much from the all important wedding band. This was a very time consuming commission, but I think you'll agree that the outcome was worth the time invested.

I can make wedding jewellery ranging from a simple single strand to a more complex piece such as the ones shown here, and anything in between. This necklace and bracelet set are made from brown coloured Lava stone and silver plated beads. Please note that the Lava stone is a slightly darker brown than indicated in the photo. The large focal bead is a fabulously fancy, 925 silver plated copper bead in a Bali style. There are also two Greek ceramic beads near the focal bead. These are coated in fine silver. The clasp is pewter with a hammered finish.

Here is a beautiful set - bracelet and earrings. They are both made from chunky, silver grey coloured glass pearls, big lilac coloured, Preciosa crystals and 925 silver plated copper beads in a Bali style. Here is a 45 inch necklace made from copper chain and glass pearls in shades of 'chocolate' and varying in size. The chain is continuous and wraps around each pearl as it comes to it, as can be seen on the photo.

The length of the necklace gives greater choice for the wearer as it can be worn as a long single strand, a long strand with a chunky knot at the front, or doubled for a more sophisticated look.

Another collection of bracelets - each one very different. The first is made from stripy lampwork beads, little black glass rondells and Tibetan silver fancy spacer beads, with a Tibetan silver clasp. The second is made from lampwork oblong beads that look just like toffees. These are wired together with gold plated copper wire and there are some little dangles of Czech fire polished glass. The third bracelet is made from very chunky amber coloured glass and olivine coloured Czech glass nuggets.

Here are more examples of my lovely crocheted jewellery. Both are crocheted using silver plated copper wire and containing a variety of semi-precious chips and quality glass beads in complimenting colours. I have used quality bead cones and very pretty clasps on all my pieces. These bracelets are really lovely. They both contain chunky Bali style beads that are made from copper that is heavily plated with sterling silver. Each bracelet also has quality Czech glass beads and tiny crystals, together with a very pretty Tibetan silver toggle clasp.

This is another necklace in my crocheted jewellery series. The picture does not capture the true beauty of this monochrome necklace, but clicking on it to see the deatil may help. The necklace is made from silver plated copper wire, crocheted with a multitude (around 370) beades, most of which are semi-precious. It contains black onyx, rock crystal, snowflake obsidian, smoky quartz, fresh-water pearls, white jade, hematite and a few quality Czech beads.

This is my first attempt at wire crochet and I am very impressed with the outcome. I have used silver plated copper wire and over 300 beads to create this necklace. They are mainly Amethyst chips, freshwater pearls in peacock, blue and magenta colours, some small Hematite and Sodalite beads and a variety of other small glass beads. Click on the photo to see the detail.

You cannot see on the photograph but I have used two pretty, Tibetan silver bead cones and a silver plated lobster clasp and extension chain, to finish off the back of the necklace. This one has a new home.

Update: I have now tried these necklace, and matching bracelets and earrings, in a variety of colours and they are all exquisite. I have already mastered a range called Autumn Glory (Autumn colours obviously), a range called First Frost (Monochrome colours) and another called Falling summer rain (Pale blue/aquamarine) but I can, and will, be trying other colours, including some using Garnets, Peridot etc. If you are interested in this style of jewellery, I can make you a set in the colours of your choice. I have made some necklaces slightly shorter than the one in the picture and this is preferable for some people. I have also tended to make the necklaces and bracelets with more strands than in this picture.

The cost of these necklaces can vary, depending on the semi-precious stones used. As a guide, prices range for approximately £20.00. Bracelets will run at around £13.00 to £14.00 and Earrings will cost around £9.50 to £12.00.

This is a beautiful necklace, bracelet and earring set made entirely from clear crystals, ivory coloured glass pearls and silver plated wire. The bracelet also has a quality, sterling silver plated 'S' clasp. So what's old and what's new? Well, I have used vintage pearls for the set and some of the small crystals are also vintage. The large, teardrop shaped crystals are new, as are some of the small crystals. This would make an ideal bridal set, but it doesn't have to, as it is so lovely, I think it could be worn for any special occasion. The fact that some vintage beads have been used makes it a bargain. And what's more, there's even something blue - look at the little dangle on the bracelet's extension chain - a pale blue, oblong crystal. The price of these items reflects the fact that the pearls are not new. I can make similar items but with new pearls the price will be slightly higher.

This bracelet is a must for ladies who like jangley dangles. It is, in my opinion, the best charm bracelet I have made and it's absolutely packed to overflowing with dangles. To give a monochrome effect I have used a chunky silver plated chain with lobster clasp and added a variety of quality glass, crystal and semi-precious stones in black, white and grey. Stones include Labradorite, White Jade, Hematite, freshwater Pearls and Rock Crystal. The effect is stunning. This set is gorgeous, but the photographs do not show how beautiful the stones are.

The necklace is made up of huge, 30mm and 25mm green, rutilated quartz discs, intersperced with copper bicones and 'Bali style' copper beads, then finished with a lovely copper toggle clasp.

The bracelet has one of the same quartz beads as a focal point, wrapped with copper wire. This is accompanied by two of the same copper Bali style beads and a very pretty copper toggle clasp, set to the side so it can be seen when worn. The back of the bracelet comprises copper chain, bronze coloured Czech seed beads and Rain Forest Jasper nuggets. All copper items on this set are pure copper, not copper plated.

This necklace is sheer class. It is made from Red Agate - large, shiny, twisted ovals that need little else to compliment them. In this case the Agate stones are separated by tiny silver plated spacer beads and there is one round stardust bead and several small Swarovski crystals as a point of interest - set to one side of the centre. The first is just pearls and silvery twirls and the second is a black and gold lampwork heart with a tassle made up of pearls, crystal and Czech glass beads. Both necklace s use silv er plated copper wire for all the wire work. Cost for each is £11.

Having a very special piece like this only happens on a rare occasion. This absolutely fabulous necklace is made from Swarovski crystal hearts, bicones and a large crescent moon shaped pendant, all in Golden Shadow colour. The wire work and toggle clasp are all gold filled (that is, sterling silver with a gold plating) and the pendant's bail is made from gold vermeil (that is, sterling silver with a very heavy gold plating).

Look at this, my first attempt at chain mail. My daughter does this and has made some fabulous pieces so I decided to give it a go. I was delighted with the outcome. The chain links are bronze and I've joined them with three beautiful lampwork lentil beads and a very nice copper clasp. This sort of work is more time consuming than normal strung beads, so the price of £17.50 reflects materials plus the amount of time taken to make the piece (reduced by one third as I was slower than I will be with more practice).

I made this necklace from vintage white porcelain beads that were given to me by my lovely sister-in-law. They had belonged to her mother and were found with a broken string in her jewellery box. I decided to turn them back into something useful and return them to Shirley, and this is the result. I used a beautiful lampwork lentil as the focal point and added a cluster of pretty blue and white flowers. The spacer beads are silver plated and the clasp is Tibetan silver. The necklace is a lovely Spring/Summer adornment and I'm sure Shirley will enjoy wearing it. It's amazing what you can do with a few beads!!!!

This floating necklace contains big chunks of Rose Quartz and Amethyst, strung on either pink or purple beading wire. The centre row (containing the Amethyst) has a sterling silver pendant with a lilac glass heart in the centre, and the small lobster clasp is also sterling silver.

This is another of my favourites. It is made up of huge chunks of grade AA rose quartz set at the front, with the remainder of the necklace being small rose quartz beads and peacock coloured fresh water pearls. The clasp is a very pretty Tibetan Silver toggle. It hangs beautifully and looks good enough to eat!!!

The cost of this one is £22.50, which, given the fact that it is a one-off design and contains high grade beads, is an absolute steal.
